What is it?

“Scenes of the Self” is a series of 10 experiential sessions that turns our attention towards the different sides and versions of ourselves: who we have been, who we are today, and who we once imagined ourselves becoming - or might still become.

Drawing inspiration from dramatherapy, narrative practice, and applied theatre, the workshop approaches the self not as something fixed or one-dimensional, but as a collection of stories, experiences, desires, roles, and possibilities that shift, evolve, and exist in dialogue with one another.

This is not a form of clinical psychotherapy, but a space for creative and experiential exploration, where theatre and the expressive arts allow us to look at ourselves from different perspectives, experiment, and make room for whatever may emerge.

What are we going to be doing?

Across the 10 sessions, we will move between theatre, improvisation, movement, creative writing, storytelling, and other forms of artistic expression. We will work with roles, images, memories, and stories, using different media to observe, narrate, and revisit different aspects of ourselves.

At times, we will begin with personal material; at others, with a theatre game, a text, an image, or another creative stimulus. We will experiment with giving body and voice to different perspectives, moving between the past, the present, and what might still be possible, and exploring what changes when a story is told, performed, or seen differently.

The process will alternate between individual exploration, work in pairs or small groups, and collective creation, while also leaving space for discussion, exchange, and personal reflection.
